Meghan McDermott
OWNER, PRESIDENT/CEOMcDermott conducts energy and building enclosure assessments, whole building energy models, energy conservation calculations and building diagnostics. She is a qualified Level II Thermographer for buildings, roofs, and electrical applications; certified through the Building Performance Institute, Inc. for Building Analysis and Envelope; and even more impressive, she is a contributing author to the US Army Corps of Engineers protocol for air leakage testing. McDermott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering with a concentration in Energy.
Francis Conlin
OWNER, VICE PRESIDENTAs Technical Advisor, Conlin brings over 25 years of experience in providing building performance services. There isn’t an industry Conlin hasn’t worked with; consulting for military construction projects, construction and production housing companies, high-rise developers, research organizations, insurance companies, nonprofits and law firms. He holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed engineer in North Carolina as well as Alabama. Conlin is an Air Barrier Association of America Quality Assurance Inspector.
Joanna Darby
OWNER, OFFICE MANAGERPreviously, Darby was business manager for the Historic Preservation Society of Durham. For HPBS, Darby serves as office manager so that projects are accomplished quickly and correctly. She also assists with various field inspections including quality control inspections for utility programs.
Kevin Johnson
FIELD TECHNICIANJohnson has extensive experience in air leakage and duct testing in both residential and commercial construction. He conducts quality control inspections for utility programs and assists in large building enclosure testing. Johnson is a RESNET HERS field inspector. He has experience in both solar thermal and solar PV installation providing the team with an alternative energy background.
