High Performance Building Solutions is a team of experts - engineers, architects and building performance technicians dedicated to promoting high performance in all buildings residential and commercial, new and existing, site constructed or production built. HPBS works with a number of associate members and partners to provide specific skills on a project by project basis.

Francis Conlin - Owner, Senior Engineer

Francis Conlin is one of the owners of High Performance Building Solutions and serves as the technical advisor. His background includes both commercial and residential building consulting and he brings over 25 years of experience in providing building performance services. Mr. Conlin has worked as a consultant to military construction projects, construction and production housing companies, high-rise developers, research organizations, insurance companies, non-profits and law firms. He holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed engineer in North Carolina and Alabama. Mr. Conlin is an Air Barrier Association of America Quality Assurance Inspector.


Meghan McDermott - Owner, Architectural Engineer

Meghan McDermott is an Architectural Engineer, one of the owners and serves as the Business Manager for High Performance Building Solutions. She conducts energy and building enclosure assessments, whole building energy modeling, energy conservation savings calculations and building diagnostics. She is a qualified Level II Thermographer for buildings/roofs and electrical applications and is a contributing author to the US Army Corps of Engineers protocol for air leakage testing. She is certified through the Building Performance Institute, Inc. for Building Analyst and Envelope. Ms. McDermott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering with a concentration in Energy.

Parker Holloway - Project Manager 

Mr. Holloway conducts building performance field testing, forensic investigations and energy efficiency assessments in both commercial and residential buildings. He has conducted building performance assessments throughout the United States; including investigations of structural, moisture management, mold assessments, indoor air quality, mechanical systems, foundation, ventilation and material durability. Mr. Holloway also performs audits and specifies repairs, remediation and energy conservation improvements and is a national expert in production built homes. Most recently Mr. Holloway has conducted large building air leakage tests and conducted research for the Building America program on duct leakage and repair methods in multifamily housing. He is certified through the Building Performance Institute, Inc. for Building Analyst and Envelope. Mr. Holloway holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Georgia Southern University.


Joanna Darby - Owner, Office Manager 

Ms. Darby assist the team by managing the office so that projects run smoothly. Ms. Darby previously was business manager for the Historic Preservation Society of Durham, North Carolina.

Kevin Johnson - Field Technician 

Mr. Johnson assists the team by conducting quality control inspections for utility programs and assisting in large building air leakage enclosure testing. He is experienced in building air leakage and duct testing. Mr. Johnson is a RESNET HERS field inspector.
